Bodie Beckons

On July 30th and 31st, GRI will be undertaking it's second mission for July at the Bodie State Historic Park as well as staying in an as-yet undisclosed location to conduct an evening investigation.

This will be a three person investigation but tag-alongs for the Bodie day hunt are fine if you wish to meet up with us there at the Bodie State Historical Park.

Bodie was a very strong location for us with a number of apparitions seen in the day time along with many good EVP captures picked up with our team when we visited the location in June 2009.

The site is huge and if you do investigate it, you'll need plenty of suntan lotion, a hat, windscreens for your digital recorders and I'd recommend using good filters for your cameras - The site is ideal for infrared and polarized light filters.

Note that it is a good idea to bring a good EMF detector that you can get readings from in broad daylight. The tri-field meter is a good choice for such a location.

Ronnie's Holistic Health and beginnings...

I'm writing about some old connections from WAY back when and hoping this article puts me in touch with old friends should the stars line up. ;>)

1987 and I was fresh out of having had some mild heart troubles that left me wondering what things were all about in life. And I lived near a little store complex that exists to this day in the town of Shingle Springs, California.

Every time I'd go to the post office, I'd see this store called "Ronnie's Holistic Health" and it just kept calling to me. There was something there that just struck me about the place.

So... one day, I plucked up courage and entered this place and found a playground for my mind. All sorts of metaphysical books, strange crystals and rocks and of course, very smart and intellectual people.

Panda ran the place, a big bubble-headed woman with a giant blonde hairdo with purple eyeliner that made her stand out and she was truly beautiful. Skye, an older woman with great intuitive gifts worked there in the beginning days and there were so many others who I came to know as the years passed.

That is where I learned much of what I know about the spirit world today and all too suddenly, in the early 90s, it came to an end. Panda packed up with her husband and moved to Oregon and we lost touch. Another owner bought the store and it promptly went downhill and ultimately was bought by another lady who renamed it and then stayed there for many years until selling it to another gal and now it looks as if that store may or may not be around long. Given this economy, I'm not surprised. People are focusing in essentials, but I'm wanting to preserve and remember this bit of the past and to ask those who may remember Ronnie's Holistic Health to get in touch with me.
That store was where I first learned about astral travel and my mind began to expand around the concepts of alternate realities, ufo books and healing and other new age concepts.

In short, Panda had created a place that people were comfortable to come in and just sit all day and buy things while exchanging ideas and creating good vibes. Another lady whose name totally escapes me (I think she was named Cathie but don't quote me!) used to run the Florist shop across the way and she and Panda often did wonderful parties and got together often on various events and opened each other's stores for these purposes. Her home was not far from Panda's and we had many solstice and equinox celebrations there. I never forgot the laughter and smiles despite forgetting names after not having thought about this for many years. Their faces still shine in my memory.

"Ronnie's" was named as such due to her son having passed in some sort of accident (If memory serves) and this was her way of channeling her energies into doing something good for the world. Panda - I have to say it... You were hugely successful and you made a difference in more lives than you can possibly know. Without you and the store, I would not be here doing this work now. I am forever grateful.

She had a home not far away and was truly loved in this community. When it came time for her to go, I missed her and the store terribly. It was such a "center" for all things. In a time when the world is full of paranormal research and chasing the dead, this place stood out as a place of LIFE. And I never forgot that. In fact, I incorporate it's lessons into GRI and try to remember that these spirits may seem "dead" to us, but are very connected with our lives and if only we remain aware of this, both sides of the veil can prosper.

I remember nights where we would hang out at the store and test our psychic senses and do sessions where we did psychic development games and psychometry. And Ronnie's was a sponsor to study groups in the area where many amazing events happened and folks did channeling work and experienced direct contact with the other side. If only some of my old friends from those days could see where we're at now! LOL!!! I think they would be pleasantly surprised and shocked!

I miss my old friend and hope someone reads that article or it gets captured on Google search somehow and the right person gets me into contact with Panda and we can stay in touch. And perhaps, even if we resurrect the name and create a Ronnie's Psychic Development night and rotate from home to home like we used to, I think people would really benefit... If any of you who read this have old pictures and items from those days to share and talk about, this guy would sure be appreciative!

Thank you Panda - Ronnie's is NOT forgotten and I intend to bring it's spirit back in some way down the road! Your contribution and the memory of your son have not passed from the memory of all of humanity. I remember and care.

More than ever, we need to bring positive vibes back in a world adrift and consumed with making people feel bad because they exist. Life is GOOD and we should never give in to the purveyors of negativity. Life is about just that - living and creating laughter and smiles. And it's time to remember that! ;>) God Bless you all!

Black Chasm cave analysis underway

Those of us who visited the Black Chasm caves in May are now engaged in analyzing and readying the case report for that case. We will be presenting the results of that case in the next couple of weeks and will visit the cave complex again to potentially investigate it further as well as a potential campout in the vicinity of the complex.

More to come as we progress on the analysis!

July 4'th Paranormally Awesome Griddle/Grilled Burgers...

I usually publish paranormal articles here, but today, I'm posting a recipe I use for great burgers. Today, I saw a similar recipe on a news site and it had a couple of items I never thought to add in, so I'm posting this to share with interested people.

For one, adding water to the meat beforehand to moisten the meat and the use of a griddle INSIDE the barbecue to add a new means of cooking the other ingredients all in one place!

So here is the new recipe for Jon's Paranormal Burgers ;>) Try this out before July 4'th and I guarantee you you'll love the result ;>) You'll definitely want to use this for the July 4'th holiday!

Ingredients

Good quality hamburger meat
Onions
Garlic (crushed/diced)
Salt and Pepper
Butter
Seasonings of choice.
Jack or Cheddar cheese
Canola oil
Olive oil
Parsley
Water 1 tbsp

Stuff you'll need to cook it all

Barbecue grill and all needed accessories - the usual stuff!
Foil tub for the basting ingredients
Griddle that you can fit into the barbecue grill
Basting Brush OR savory herb on stalks with leaves on as a brush OR parsley stalks put together to make a brush.

The Secret Process

Mix the butter and garlic together with some olive oil into a foil tub and let it melt on the grill. Have it off to the side of the grill away from the main source of heat - just enough to warm up - use common sense on amounts of each ingredient.
Put the grill into the barbecue to let it heat up. Turn your attention to those burgers now!
1 tablespoon of water to mix with meat. It will moisten the meat and really does help
Salt and Pepper - season exterior aggressively - press into both sides once you have it in place with your (clean!) hand. Do it outside of the grill before you put it into place
Canola oil - drizzle on to conduct spices into the burger.
Use any savory herb or parsley and use olive oil and butter with the herb stalks pasted together as the basting brush. Or just use a regular basting brush if you don't want to do this.
Grill onions and other goodies on the griddle with the hamburgers which are now cooking on the griddle.
Once browned up, move burger over from the griddle to cook on the open barbecue grill itself. Let it cook there a bit, flip and cook to firm up meat.
Add chopped parsley to the onions while the burger is cooking on the grill.
Now move the hamburger back to the griddle - Put onions on top of the burger.
Drizzle some of the garlic/olive oil/butter mix onto the burgers to drown that puppy in the good stuff.
Now put cheese on and let it wilt a bit. let is melt into the burger a bit but not too much.
Serve it up! Be a hero to friends and family.

Tell me what you think of it! I had done all of the steps above with the onions and basting separate of the grill. This makes things so much easier!

Spooky Spirit Tesla Radio project - Ancient electronics meets modern day computer technology

The Spooky Tesla Radio is a project I've seen off and on at the "Instructables" web site at http://www.instructables.com/id/Spooky-Tesla-Spirit-Radio - and it appears to be a take off on some of the older EVP crystal radio method using what is called a "Raudive Diode"

We are looking at building one of these and using specialized software called Total Recorder to give this a try and see what we think of it.

The idea of testing these devices is to hearken back to hand-made electronic devices that, coupled with today's technology, might yield interesting results and also which may find a standard place in the toolbox for our investigations.

What is striking are some of the lightning detection modes and also the potential EVP uses. If nothing else, it should be fun to try out and see what we get ;>)
